Scooter's Coffee appoints new Chief Development Officer to accelerate growth

Patrick Coelho has been named as new Chief Development Officer at drive-thru coffee chain Scooter’s Coffee, where he will continue support for franchise growth that has seen the Nebraska-based company expand to nearly 450 sites

Patrick Coelho has joined Scooter’s Coffee as Chief Development Officer to accelerate brand growth and support the overall expansion of new stores in existing and new markets.

In a press release, Scooter’s Coffee said that Coelho, who previously worked for Restaurant Brands International and Burger King, will enhance Scooter’s Coffee drive-thru kiosk concept and franchise model.

Founded in 1998 and headquartered in Nebraska, US, Scooter’s Coffee now operates nearly 450 stores in 24 states, with growth accelerating in recent months.

Drive-thru is a popular coffee shop format in the US and gained further traction during the pandemic when social distancing became an important operational concern.

With more than 6,400 sites, Dunkin’ is the largest drive-thru operator in the US.

Fellow US drive-thru coffee chain Dutch Bros opened 34 new stores in the first three months of 2022 and recently reported 54% revenue growth of compared with the same period in 2021.
