UK-based specialty coffee roaster and café group 92 Degrees is set to open eight more sites after receiving £1.4m ($1.7m) of private investment.

The company, which opened its first roastery in Liverpool city centre in 2014 and its first coffee shop the following year, currently operates 10 coffee shops across the UK and sells retail coffee products via its website.

Speaking to Business News, CEO Jack Brewitt said that the investment, from an undisclosed source, will lead to a further eight sites, including in Scotland, Manchester, Liverpool and London.

The chain is on track to close 2022 with at least 15 store locations and is targeting 30 stores in 2023.

Brewitt also outlined plans to complete the development phase of 92 Degrees canned coffees products and said the company will be pursuing an ambitious retail market strategy.
