Paul Turner has been appointed Chief Operating Officer at Scoffs Group UK, Costa Coffee's largest UK franchise partner, where he will help lead the company’s growth plans.
Launched in 2012, Scoffs Group currently operates 101 Costa Coffee stores across the UK. Turner will oversee departmental operations and recruitment to the company’s leadership team.
Scoffs Group said his appointment coincides with a new phase of growth as the company ‘expands aggressively as a multi-unit franchise business’.
Turner previously worked for Costa Coffee from 2016 until April 2022, most recently as Regional Operations Director for the London, East Anglia & South East regions.
“Paul has a wealth of leadership experience in Costa Coffee and is a well-respected high calibre individual within the industry. He is known for his ability to lead high-level strategic projects and deliver first-class operational standards. Scoffs Group is moving into an exciting new phase as we continue to expand aggressively as a multi-unit franchise business, and so Paul’s timing couldn’t be better for us,” said Antony Tagliamonti, CEO, Scoffs Group.
Costa Coffee is Europe’s largest coffee chain, operating nearly 2,800 coffee shops in the UK and Ireland and a further 1,100 stores globally. The company’s CEO Jill McDonald is to step down at the end of July 2022 and will be replaced in the interim by Shakir Moin until a permanent successor is appointed.
