The South Korean café-bakery chain says it will reach nearly 150 US stores by the end of 2022 and is ‘on track to exceed’ an ambitious goal to open 1,000 stores in the country by 2030

Paris Baguette America is gearing up for further US outlet following a positive year of trading. The South Korean café chain’s US business posted 42% year-on-year sales growth for its 2022 financial year, with like-for-like sales growing 31%.
Paris Baguette America said it was on track to open 40 new outlets by the end of 2022, which would bring its total US store count to around 150 stores.
The chain said it would now accelerate outlet growth, with 96 new cafés slated to open 2023, and that it was on track to exceed an ambitious goal to open 1,000 US stores by the end of the decade.
“The increased interest we’ve seen in franchise agreements and rapid expansion through new store openings at Paris Baguette is a testament to the success we’ve seen by focusing on the elevated bakery café experience and creating an emotional connection with our guests,” said Darren Tipton, CEO, Paris Baguette America.
“We set an aggressive goal to open 1,000 locations in the U.S. by 2030 and we’re on track to exceed this plan with strategic direction on growth, quality products, customer experience, and innovation,” Tipton added.
Paris Baguette entered the US market in 2005 and currently operates more than 100 bakery cafés in 14 states.
In January 2022 Paris Baguette America
unveiled a neighbourhood-focused store format and brand revamp designed to fill as a gap in the market for local café-bakery stores.
Paris Baguette has sought to grow its international footprint over the last 18 months,
entering the Cambodian market in June 2021, announcing plans for its
first UK store in February 2022,
Malaysia in June 2022 and outlining a strategy
expand in France.
In June 2022 Paris Baguette announced
plans to build a $30m bakery distribution centre in Malaysia to support growth in South East Asia and future markets in the Middle East.
Paris Baguette is the largest food-focused coffee chain in
South Korea and operates around 4,000 stores globally. While most of its stores are located in its native market, Paris Baguette’s parent company SPC Group operates around 430 stores across China, the US, France, Vietnam and Singapore.
SPC Group operates a total of 17 hospitality brands in South Korea and internationally, including Paris Croissant, Caffè Pascucci, Jamba Juice, and Shake Shack.
In June 2022, SPC Group
acquired French bakery and coffee chain LINA’s, which operates 11 stores and announced plans to grow the brand in North America and South East Asia.
