Costa Express partners with Internet of Things (IoT) service provider Eseye to boost performance and efficiency across its Express vending machine network globally
Over 9,000 Costa Express vending machines are currently in operation around the world
In a press statement, Eseye said the technology would enable Costa Coffee to generate operational efficiencies across its global vending portfolio. The software, known as AnyNet Active Management service will allow Costa to gather real-time performance data from its 10,000+ Costa Express portfolio. This will generate operational efficiencies by alerting staff to replenish machines’ inventories, monitor performance to preempt maintenance issues and improve quality consistency across the global network.
“Eseye’s fully redundant fault-tolerant network provides a managed connectivity service with a global footprint, whilst support for multiple cellular networks in each geographical region enables close to 100% connectivity uptime,” said Paul Borrett, Systems & Data Director at Costa Coffee
“This means that we can deploy connected devices and deliver premium quality drinks virtually anywhere in the world. A real advantage as the company is seeking to expand rapidly across international markets,” he added.
The partnership is the latest sign that Costa Coffee is seeking to significantly bolster the competitiveness of its Costa Express portfolio within the fast-growing global coffee vending machine market.
Since being acquired by US beverage giant Coca-Cola in late 2018, Costa Coffee has added more than 1,200 Express machines to its global portfolio.
