The premium Italian coffee roaster is building upon a 10-year association at the French Open, where it operates on-site coffee shops and kiosks as the tennis tournament’s Official Coffee Supplier
Italian coffee roaster Lavazza is extending its partnership with the French Open tennis tournament, also known as Roland-Garros, until 2030.
Turin-based Lavazza became the tournament’s Official Coffee Supplier in 2015 and serves coffee across dozens of touchpoints at the Stade Roland-Garros in Paris, including on-site coffee shops, coffee carts and self-serve machines.
“The renewal of our partnership with Roland-Garros, one of the most prestigious tennis tournaments in the world, is the confirmation of a consolidated and strategic bond. Being the Official Coffee Supplier of such an iconic event allows us to bring the French and international public an authentic experience, made up of passion and rituality, and to strengthen our vision: to preside over the moments in which coffee becomes a symbol of meeting, exchange and sharing,” said Lavazza Group Chairman, Giuseppe Lavazza.
Lavazza has a long of history of supporting tennis events, having sponsored Wimbledon and the US Open since 2011 and 2015 respectively, and the Australian Open 2016-2022. In October 2023, the premium coffee roaster also added the Rolex Shanghai Masters to its sponsorship roster – a tournament won in 2024 by Italian Jannik Sinner, a Lavazza Brand Ambassador since 2019 – before sponsoring the Mutua Madrid Open for the first time in April 2024.
Founded in Turin in 1895, Lavazza produces more than 30 billion cups of coffee every year and is available in 140 countries globally. The Italian coffee roaster achieved 9% year-on-year revenue growth last year to reach a record €3.35bn ($3.67bn), with sales in France increasing 2% year-on-year.
