London-based Hagen has made its international debut with an outlet in Amsterdam, the Netherlands.
The Danish-inspired specialty coffee group said the store builds on its next-generation espresso bar concept, which it unveiled at a new site in London’s upscale Mayfair district in December 2024.
With seating intentionally limited, the focal point of the Amsterdam outlet is a green marble counter with vintage brass fittings designed to encourage conversation and a communal atmosphere. Hagen has installed a Kees Van Der Westen manual espresso machine at the site and will serve a wide range of specialty coffees, including a single origin from its Himalayan Speciality Coffee Project in Taplejung, Nepal.
“We are super excited to be able to bring Hagen to Amsterdam, a city with a fantastic café culture, quality and craftsmanship and that love bikes, windmills and canal tours as much as we do in Copenhagen,” said Tim Shroeder, Founder, Hagen.
Hagen currently operates 17 outlets across London and will open a second Amsterdam store in May 2025. The specialty coffee group is planning to enter a third European market before the end of the year.
