The coffee industry is facing major challenges, but green coffee service group Neumann Kaffee Gruppe (NKG) is convinced that joint efforts can lead the industry on the right path.

With a global network covering 28 countries, NKG’s diversified sustainability efforts reach down to farm level to create sustainable supply chains that benefit everyone who contributes to our daily cup of coffee. More than 300 employees around the world work on solutions that address both global and local challenges.

NKG believes that there is no one-size-fits-all solution for sustainability. Therefore, its efforts range from global initiatives to local projects. The global initiatives are NKG Verified, a programme for sustainable coffee supply to green buyers, and NKG Bloom, a programme for sustainable livelihoods.

At its Kaweri coffee farm in Uganda, NKG replants charred organic matter as biochar, while its coffee clubs in Tanzania connect youth with coffee. Additionally, NKG strengthens the coffee value chain at its Sustainable Producer Services Unit in Becamo, Honduras.

How can you get involved? The most direct way to support NKG’s efforts is to buy NKG Verified or NKG Bloom coffees. Or you can partner with NKG, co-invest in improvements and services in its existing supply chains or co-create tailor-made initiatives in line with your key topics relying on NKG’s networks and expertise.

Together, responsibility must be taken today to build a sustainable coffee industry for tomorrow.
