Bad Ass Coffee of Hawaii is gearing up for its ‘biggest year yet’ after laying the foundations for rapid outlet growth.
In a press release, the franchised operator announced it opened 12 of 20 planned new stores last year to reach 44 outlets across 14 US states. Bad Ass Coffee, which signed 13 multi-unit development agreements in 2024 and currently has over 100 sites in development, expects to open 23 net new store stores in the US by the end of 2025.
However, the coffee chain will need to ramp up outlet growth if it is to achieve its goal of operating 180 US stores by 2028 – a target first outlined in August 2022.
In a press release, Bad Ass Coffee said it made significant investments in real estate infrastructure and franchisee support last year and is planning to further invest in field operations and marketing teams in 2025 in a bid to increase franchisee sales. The Colorado-based coffee chain will also seek to enhance customer engagement with the launch of an upgraded loyalty app and online ordering system in the second half of the year.
“2024 was a year of firsts for the company and also saw the completion of infrastructure milestones that we began four years ago to set the stage for massive growth in the year ahead and beyond. We’re very excited about 2025 and believe that it will further solidify our brand as a leader in the QSR franchise coffee landscape,” said Scott Snyder, CEO, Bad Ass Coffee of Hawaii.
Founded in Hawaii in 1989, Bad Ass Coffee of Hawaii also retails packaged coffee, tea and branded merchandise via its online website. The coffee chain primarily sources coffee from the famous Kona region of the Big Island, as well as Kauai and Maui.
