UK-based coffee and food-to-go chain Pret A Manger is set to grow its presence in Canada after signing ten-year development agreement with restaurant chain A&W.
Pret A Manger has traded in Canada since July 2022, opening several concession sites within A&W restaurants in Vancouver and Toronto before launching its first bricks-and-mortar outlet in January 2024.
In a press release, A&W said it will open further standalone Pret A Manger stores over the next decade and commence a national rollout of the brand’s coffee in A&W restaurants from the third quarter of 2024.
Founded in London in 1986, Pret A Manger now operates more than 650 outlets across 18 markets and is expected to open up to 150 international stores in 2024.
In April 2024, the coffee and food-to-go chain appointed JAB Partner Konrad Meyer as its new Chairman to accelerate its international growth plans, which includes 2024 debuts in South Africa and Israel.
