Indonesian coffee chain Kopi Kenangan has promoted Gemini Aryanto to Group Chief People & Culture Officer.
In a press release, the coffee-to-go chain said Aryanto has played a significant role in strengthening its talent strategy since joining the business as Senior Vice President of Global People & Culture in July 2022, including driving management development, operational excellence and productivity improvements.
Founded in Jakarta in 2017, Kopi Kenangan has grown rapidly to operate over 850 stores across Indonesia and has opened more than 50 sites across Malaysia and Singapore since making its overseas debut in October 2022.
Kopi Kenangan, which attained coveted unicorn status in January 2022 after receiving a valuation above $1bn, saw sales exceed $100m for the first time in 2023 – according to US news outlet CNBC.
Prior to joining Kopi Kenangan, Aryanto held senior HR roles at Yum! Brands, Nestlé Indonesia, Danone and Kraft Foods Indonesia.
