Biggby Coffee has reported robust franchise growth in its first quarter as it targets 1,000 US stores by the end of 2028.
The Michigan-based franchise opened 10 new stores in the first three months of 2024 to reach 392 sites across the US, signed 15 new leases and agreed 12 new franchise deals.
Biggby Coffee has more than 140 stores currently in development.

Founded in 1995, Biggby Coffee has a presence across 13 US states, with outlets primarily in Michigan, Indiana, Ohio and Wisconsin. In October 2022 the coffee chain set a goal of reaching 1,000 US outlets by 2028.
World Coffee Portal’s Project Cafe USA 2024 research report found that 78% of industry leaders believe there is sufficient growth potential for branded coffee shops in the US, with more than 50% expecting like-for-like sales growth within the coffee shop sector to outperform GDP growth this year.
