Costa Coffee beverages will be served on all easyJet flights from late summer 2024 following a new partnership between the UK’s largest branded coffee chain and the budget airline.
The offer, which will include Costa Coffee Cappuccino, Latte and Salted Caramel Latte beverages, replaces easyJet’s previous in-flight coffee partnership with Italian roaster Segafredo.
“Working with easyJet to bring Costa Coffee on board their flights is an exciting milestone for us and will see us take to the skies this summer. It's a testament to our commitment to making high-quality coffee accessible to everyone as we’ve developed an airline friendly range that tastes great at 30,000 feet. As we prepare to embark on this journey together, we look forward to offering our products to millions of passengers this Summer,” said Mark Cumming, UK Commercial Director, Costa Coffee.
The collaboration comes as easyJet seeks to enhance its onboard EAT.DRINK.SHOP food, beverage and duty-free retail offer, managed by Dubai-based catering and retail partner dnata.
UK-based easyjet, which flies nearly 1,000 routes to over 150 airports in 35 countries, also serves Twinings tea and Cadbury hot chocolate alongside a range of soft and alcoholic drinks, hot and cold food.
“dnata are delighted to be working with both easyJet and Costa Coffee on bringing to the inflight retail market this amazing coffee proposition, giving our customers a high street branded coffee experience during flight,” added Richard Bainbridge, Retail Director, dnata.
Costa Coffee has made several moves to scale its global reach this year across various retail channels. Alongside bricks-and-mortar debuts in Belgium and Italy in February and April 2024, the coffee chain has partnered with supermarket giant Sainsbury’s to open in-store cafés across the UK and will operate temporary ‘pod’ stores across France as part of its sponsorship of the Paris 2024 Olympics and Paralympic Games.
Additionally, Costa Coffee partnered with US hospitality group Delaware North in May 2024 to develop a new fully automated robotic coffee concept. Costa Coffee Creations is set to launch at Austin-Bergstrom International Airport in Texas in August 2024.
