US coffee chain Dunkin’ has announced plans to ‘establish a significant footprint’ in France over the next decade after signing a master franchise agreement with Swiss restaurant group QSRP.

QSRP will open its first Dunkin’ stores in Paris in 2025 before expanding across the country via a network of local franchisees.

“This strategic collaboration marks a major milestone for QSRP and Dunkin’ as we join forces to offer the French consumers a great-tasting, everyday value coffee and donut experience. We are committed to opening numerous Dunkin’ franchises throughout France and becoming the brand of choice to recharge your day,” said Alessandro Preda, CEO, QSRP.

Founded in 1950, Dunkin operates more than 13,700 outlets in 40 markets globally. France will be Dunkin’s 11th European market after Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Georgia, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, Spain, Switzerland and the UK

The announcement comes less than a year after JAB Holding-managed US donut and coffee chain Krispy Kreme debuted in France with a store in Paris.

Backed by Luxembourg-based private equity firm Kharis Capital, QSRP operates more than 1,200 licensed restaurants across seven European markets. Its restaurant portfolio includes quick-service chains, Burger King, Quick, NORDSEE, Go! Fish, O’Tacos and CHICK&CHEEZ.
