UK-based Cornish Bakery is seeking a Managing Director to lead the brand’s bid to ‘double or triple in size’.
Founded in 1994, Cornish Bakery opened nine new stores in 2023, including in Cheltenham, Salisbury and Looe, to reach 60 UK outlets.
In 2022, the bakery café chain said it planned to grow from its then 50 stores to reach 100 by 2025. However, in a new LinkedIn post, the bakery café chain said it now sees the potential to double or triple in size to become one of the leading modern high-end bakeries globally.
“We’re on the hunt for an impressive person who can lead our pioneering brand proposition, lead the build of our culture, lead our new bakeries and growth strategy and continue our shared mission of redefining what a bakery does, and what a bakery can be,” Cornish Bakery said.
The Managing Director will work alongside Founder Steve Grocutt and Head of Acquisitions Raj Manek, who joined the business in September 2023.
In March 2023, Grocutt told World Coffee Portal that Cornish Bakery was seeking to change the perception of what a high street bakery could be, backed by a rebrand to make the business more suited to mainstream high street locations.
“We are not your local bakery to get your daily bread, in fact we do not even sell bread. We simply want to nourish our customers with the freshest possible quality food washed down by the best imaginable coffee,” he said.
