Italy’s Cimbali Group appoints Frédéric Thil as General Manager

The former Ferrero CEO is tasked with bringing the group’s La Cimbali, Faema, Slayer and Casadio brands to new international markets

Milan-based Cimbali Group has announced Frédéric Thil as its new General Manager. 
 

The former Ferrero CEO assumed the position in October 2024 and will drive Cimbali Group’s international expansion. 


“We are particularly pleased that Frédéric has accepted our challenge. With his proven professional expertise, he will support us in advancing the internationalisation process we have been pursuing for some time,” said Maurizio Cimbali, President, Cimbali Group.

In a press release, Thil highlighted Cimbali Group’s commitment to meeting evolving global demands while prioritising sustainability, citing the challenge as ‘both significant and exciting’. 
 

“The coffee machine market is undergoing significant transformation, and distant countries represent a major market share. We must meet our customers’ needs while maintaining a strong focus on environmental and social sustainability. This challenge is both significant and exciting,” he added. 


Thil began his career in 1987 at fast-moving consumer goods giant Unilever before joining Italian confectionery brand Ferrero in 2001. After serving as Commercial Director of Ferrero France, Thil was appointed General Manager of Ferrero in 2008 and CEO of Ferrero Spa Italia in 2013.  


Since 2020, Thil has served as President of his consulting firm Thil Consulting which support SMEs and start-ups develop business plans. 


Founded in 1912, Cimbali Group is one of Europe’s leading manufacturers of professional coffee machines and equipment, and comprises of the La Cimbali, Faema, Slayer and Casadio brands. 


The Milan-based group operates four production facilities in Italy and one in the US, where its Slayer machines are manufactured, and distributes to over 100 markets globally.
