London-based Benugo is poised to enter the UK at-home coffee market with a new single origin ground coffee.

The 227g bag will be available for purchase from Benugo’s six London coffee shops, nine John Lewis cafés and Benugo workplaces from 16 October 2023, as well as via the chain’s delivery platform, which provides breakfast and bakery platters to households and workplaces across the capital.

“When my brother Hugo and I opened our first café in Clerkenwell, East London, back in 1998, our vision was to give Londoner’s a coffee experience they’d never had before. Today, 25 years later, we’re thrilled that our customers can experience part of our award-winning cafés at home with our first retail coffee blend,” said Ben Warner, co-Founder of Benugo.

Alongside its café network and workplace settings, Benugo also operates more than 30 coffee shops and restaurants in some prominent public spaces and venues, including London Zoo, The Natural History Museum and London Coliseum.

Benugo returned to profitability in 2022 following a surge in commuter and tourist footfall after the Covid-19 pandemic. However, while pre-tax profits reached £3.7m ($4.5m), Benugo’s 2022 revenues were 18% below pre-pandemic levels at £98.7m ($121m).
