Starbucks has opened its 150th store in Chile and is nearing 300 across the Southern Cone, comprising Argentina, Chile and Uruguay.
The new drive-thru outlet is located in the city of Colina and is operated by franchise partner Alsea Cona Sur, which also manages fast-food chain Burger King and Domino’s Pizza across the three countries.
Starbucks Chile said the store is in an increasingly ‘urbanised’ region of Colina, close to several schools and universities and demonstrates its ‘commitment to the Starbucks experience, convenience and efficiency’.
Alsea Cona Sur has operated Starbucks stores in Chile since 2013 and currently operates 294 Starbucks outlets across Argentina (132), Chile (150) and Uruguay (12).
Mexico-based restaurant operator Alsea operates more than 1,600 Starbucks locations globally, 47% of which are in Mexico.
In November 2022, the company cited robust sales among its franchised Starbucks stores as a key contributor to its record ₱17.5bn ($888m) third quarter revenues.
Alsea also operates Starbucks outlets in Belgium, Colombia, France, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Spain and Portugal.
