Starbucks has appointed Leo Burnett Toronto as its Agency of Record in Canada to scale its advertising reach.

Leo Burnett Toronto offers strategic consulting, design and advertising services. The creative agency will open its account with Starbucks on 1 January 2024.

“We are excited to work with Leo Burnett to amplify our brand in the Canadian market. We were impressed with the thinking and approach from the Leo team, showcasing a strong understanding of the essence of our brand. There was a strong connection between our teams, and we are looking forward to growing our love and connection with Starbucks customers together,” said Deborah Neff, Vice President, Product and Marketing, Starbucks Canada.

Starbucks opened its first Canadian outlet, and its first outside of the US, in Vancouver in 1987 and currently operates more than 1,400 stores across the North American country.

Leo Burnett Toronto is part of French multinational advertising and public relations firm Publicis Groupe. Starbucks also works with Publicis Groupe sister companies Spark Foundry on media projects, MSL for social media marketing, and Martel et compagnie in French speaking Quebec.

Edelman Canada and Media Profile are the Seattle-based coffee chain’s public relations agencies of record.
