SSP Group and Attica-based airport operator Fraport Greece will open the first Pret A Manger store in Greece this month at Thessaloniki Airport.
As part of the agreement, three further Pret A Manger outlets will be opened at Mykonos, Kos and Zakynthos airports within the first half of 2024.
“We are excited to bring the Pret brand to Greece. Greek cuisine is famous all over the world for its many beloved local dishes, many of which have inspired the products we offer at Pret. In partnership with SSP and Fraport Greece, we can’t wait to bring the first Pret shop to Greece in Thessaloniki Airport,” said Pano Christou, CEO, Pret A Manger.
Pret A Manger’s upcoming Greek debut marks another step in the coffee and food-to-go chain’s international expansion stratgey, which has delivered the brand’s first stores in India, Luxembourg, Italy and Spain in 2023.
London-based Pret A Manger expects to reach 700 stores across 17 global markets by the end of 2023.
SSP Group has operated in Greece since 2001 and currently operates sites across eight airports in the country, including Athens, Corfu, Rhodes and Chania. In June 2023, The travel concession operator acquired franchise rights to develop Pret A Manger in German-speaking Switzerland.
Founded in 2015, Fraport Greece is responsible for maintaining and operating 14 airports across Greece.
