French-Japanese inspired café and dining concept Café Kitsuné has opened its first store in Taiwan and its 26th globally.
Launched in Tokyo in 2014, Café Kitsuné has a growing presence across Asia with recent market entries in Singapore and the Philippines adding to its 14 stores across Japan, South Korea, China, Thailand and Indonesia.
The group’s first Taiwanese outlet has opened at the Bellavista shopping mall in Tapei, which also features premium café brands Come True Coffee and Heritage Bakery & Café.
World Coffee Portal research forecasts the Taiwanese branded coffee shop market, led by Louisa Coffee and Starbucks, will reach 3,197 outlets by 2025.
Highlighting increasing consumer appetite for more premium café experiences across the nation, Japanese boutique coffee group % Arabica made its Taiwanese debut with a store in Taipei in August 2022 while domestic specialty coffee chain HWC Coffee is seeking to build on its 70 stores across Taiwan by expanding across Malaysia and launching in Brunei in April 2023.
Other Taiwanese specialty coffee shops include Simple Kaffa, Coffee Stopover, Kafemera and Fika Fika Café.
Café Kitsuné also has stores in the UK, the US, Canada, France and the UAE.
