Australian travel retailer Lagardere AWPL has launched an espresso bar and bookstore concept at Brisbane Airport.
The debut Bound outlet features coffee from local roaster Bellisimo Coffee and food from bakery company Jocelyn’s Provisions, both based in Queensland, Australia.
“We are incredibly excited to see Bound open at our Domestic Terminal, allowing passengers to shop the latest book releases, search for the perfect gift and grab a delicious coffee and pastry all at the same time. It’s great to welcome another store to the Brisbane Airport family, continuing our strong, long-term relationship with Lagardere AWPL,” said Martin Ryan, Executive General Manager Commercial, Brisbane Airport Corporation.
Bound adds to a strong portfolio of coffee shops at Brisbane Airport. Outlets of Brisbane-based The Coffee Club and Melbourne-based Hudsons Coffee, as well as international franchise coffee and donut brand Krispy Kreme are all present in the travel hub.
UK-based travel retailer SSP Group operates a Fonzie Abbott coffee shp[ and its own-brand Upper Crust at Brisbane Airport. SSP Group expanded its footprint in Australia after winning a new tender at Gold Coast Airport in July 2021.
Lagardere AWPL operates 180 stores across 26 airports in the Pacific region. The travel retailer also operates outlets of the Allpress Espresso and Campos Coffee brands at other locations.
The company has opened 10 new stores as part of Brisbane Airport’s A$40m ($26m) Domestic Terminal upgrade project.
