Good Earth Coffeehouse has kick-started its partnership with Indigo bookstores with the opening of its first in-store café in Calgary, Alberta.
The partnership, first announced in March 2022, will see the coffee chain open cafés within select Indigo stores across Canada. Good Earth plans to open 20 sites within book retailer’s 88 store portfolio next year.
The first café in the collaboration, located inside Indigo’s CF Chinook Centre, will offer breakfast and bakery items alongside a selection of Rainforest Alliance Certified, Organic, Fairtrade and Direct Trade coffees.
“We are so pleased to be opening our first retailer location and being Calgary born it's only fitting to open our first location with Indigo at the Chapters in our home city. We look forward to providing Indigo guests across the county with a place to gather and enjoy a cup of coffee and some good food," said Nan Eskenazi, Founder, Good Earth Cafes Ltd.
Founded in 1991, Good Earth Coffeehouse currently operates 50 stores across Canada. Expansion plans for 2023 include openings in Toronto, Edmonton, Calgary, Vancouver, Halifax, Winnipeg and Southwestern Ontario.
World Coffee Portal forecast the Canadian branded coffee shop market will exceed 7,600 outlets by 2025.
