Le Paris Café Festival returns to celebrate Parisian coffee culture

With more than 8,000 visitors expected across three days, Le Paris Cafe Festival returns to 

Le Centquatre in the French capital on 14-16 May 2022, celebrating Paris’ burgeoning coffee scene and providing a valuable, experiential business platform for new and successful brands in the sector.


Klatch Coffee bridges e-commerce and café experiences with new website

US specialty coffee roaster and café chain Klatch Coffee has lauched a redesigned website to enhance customers' understanding of coffee origins with stories from producers and a quiz to pair them with flavour profiles. “We’re bringing the personal café experience to the ecommerce world. That unique conversation between customer and barista is now possible with a few simple steps,” said Klatch Coffee CEO, Heather Perry.

Paulig’s head office and roastery achieve new energy efficiency targets

Finnish coffee and food brand Paulig has achieved a target to reduce the energy consumption of its Vuosaari property by 7.5% (1,946 MWh) by the end of 2025 four years early, with savings accumulated in comparison to 2016 levels, when the target was set, almost at 10% (2,589 MWh). The Vuosaari property houses the head office of Paulig and a coffee roastery, where 100 million coffee packages and over 200 different products are produced annually.

UCC launches new UK website catering to smaller hospitality businesses

UCC Coffee UK & Ireland is building upon a recent surge in popularity for online ordering by launching a new UCC Coffee Direct website to provide smaller hospitality with access to its coffee brands. The site offers lower minimum order quantities, providing greater accessibility for small businesses wishing to benefit from economies of scale.

Westrock Coffee responsibly sourcing 100% of its tea products

Westrock Coffee is now successful achieving its goal to responsibly source 100% of its tea globally, further demonstrating the company’s commitment to create responsible products and solutions that foster social equality, environmental resilience, and economic opportunity throughout Westrock Coffee’s supply chains.

Nespresso partners in recycled coffee grounds fashion project

Nespresso has followed up its recent B Corp certification by announcing a partnership with zero-waste fashion start-up Zèta to create RE:GROUND, a sneaker made using recycled coffee grounds, which is defined by the two companies as celebrating the ‘value of coffee’ and the ‘virtue of circularity’.

Starbucks and Hubbub launch £1m Bring It Back Fund in UK

Starbucks has partnered with UK environmental charity Hubbub to launch a Bring It Back Fund to increase reuse and remove barriers to reusable packaging in the food and beverage industry. The £1m fund will support up to five pilot projects in the UK that help shift people’s habits through behavioural change, incentives, research projects, technology, the expansion of existing reusable systems, and entirely new service models.
