The new range of coffee products, which include two Nespresso-compatible coffee pod varieties, ground and wholebean coffee, will be available at more than 500 Tesco supermarkets in the UK and via online retailer Ocado.
"We are thrilled to be adding coffee pods to our growing coffee-at-home range so more of our customers can enjoy our organic coffees from the comfort of their home,” said Clare Clough, UK Managing Director, Pret A Manger.
“Whether you’re committed to your cafetière, or you love the convenience of using coffee pods, we want to make sure there is something for everyone to enjoy as we continue to expand how people can enjoy the Pret products they’ve grown to love in our shops,” adds Clough.
The partnership is the latest move by Pret to diversify sales as it attempts to offset losses brought about by sharp falls in commuter and office worker footfall brought about by the pandemic.
The coffee and food-to-go chain has previously partnered with supermarket chain Waitrose and online giant Amazon, to boost sales of its branded retail packaged coffee.
Sales of premium at-home coffee continue to soar in the UK and around the world.
In July 2021, DeLonghi reported half-year revenue growth of 59.7% to €1.43bn, crediting its success to booming at-home coffee sales.
