Starbucks announces latest Reserve Roastery opening in Chicago in 2019

SEATTLE, WA, USA – Starbucks Coffee Company has announced the latest Reserve Roastery will open in Chicago in 2019.  The four-story, 43,000 square-foot space will be the third Reserve Roastery in the U.S. and the sixth to open internationally.

A spokesperson for the company stated that much like the successful flagship Seattle Roastery, the new interactive space will be a ‘fully sensorial coffee environment dedicated to roasting, brewing and packaging its rare, small-batch Starbucks Reserve coffees from around the world.’

Starbucks will again partner with Italian bakery Princi to deliver fresh artisan food baked on-site at the Chicago location. Princi food will also be available in the company’s new Reserve stores, a retail concept inspired by the Roastery and due to open to the public later this year.

As announced at the company’s Investor Day last year, Starbucks confirmed plans to expand its ‘premium experience’ portfolio and open 20-30 Roastery locations globally over time and up to 1,000 Reserve stores. The next Roastery is due to open in Shanghai this year followed by one each on Tokyo, New York City, and Milan in 2018.
