Peet’s Coffee launches new dedicated business unit for ready-to-drink cold brew in US

EMERYVILLE, CA, USA – Peet’s Coffee & Tea today announced the launch of Coldcraft™, a new dedicated business unit for ready-to-drink (RTD) cold brew coffee distribution throughout.

Under the Coldcraft unit, the company will deliver both Peet’s and Stumptown RTD cold brew bottles and on-tap kegs throughout its own Direct Store Distribution network throughout California.  It is believed to be the first company-owned chilled distribution network within the coffee industry, aiming to deliver ‘absolute freshness and superior taste’ direct to stores.

‘With the introduction of Coldcraft, we will continue to provide our consumers with new ways to enjoy the high-quality coffee they expect from us,’ said Dave Burwick, CEO, Peet’s Coffee. ‘Using the same model as we do with our bagged bean business, Coldcraft’s refrigerated Direct Store Distribution network will ensure that every bottle of cold brew is as fresh and flavorful as possible when it hits cooler shelves.’

Peet’s ready-to-drink cold brew launched in July 2016 in the San Francisco Bay Area, where it currently holds 30% market share of single serve refrigerated cold brew.  The company also unveiled a new non-dairy cold brew offering with almond milk, to tap in to the growing non-dairy beverage market.
